Table Lamp BILIA Bulb by Gio Ponti for FontanaArte

Table lamp BILIA Bulb was designed by Gio Ponti in 1932 and was manufactured in Italy for FontanaArte.

This lamp is all about a sphere in an apparently impossible feat: balancing on a cone that serves as its base. One of Gio Ponti’s many compositional magic tricks. The counterbalancing of two elementary geometric forms results in an original, perfectly proportioned object. An unpretentious composition, enriched by the extraordinary balance of its proportions and the stylish discretion of non-reflective materials. Light is diffused by the geometrical simplicity of the lamp's design.
